Beach WA 1588 commences at the tip of the foreland and curves to the northeast, then north for 1.8 km, past Tantabiddi Well, where the northern boundary of the Cape Range National Park bisects beach. It terminates at a section of low calcarenite bluffs. The ranger station is located at the park entrance 300 m east of the beach and a vehicle track winds out form the station to the centre of the beach. It is fronted by patchy fringing reef extending up to 500 m offshore, then the channel and outer reefs.
