Beach WA 909 extends north of the infection point for 1.5 km to a 500 m long section of calcarenite. The beach alternates between sections of intertidal calcarenite and some sandy areas free of rock. Waves average about 1 m and either break across the rocks or surge up a reflective beach face. Ten to twenty metre high vegetated dunes back the beach, with two areas of active blowouts in the south and centre. Vegetated dunes then extend up to 2.5 km inland.
