Beach WA 907 faces southwest and extends from the river mouth for 1.3 km north to a 100 m long section of calcarenite that terminates at a groyne and beachside car park. The groyne was built to assist boat launching across the soft beach. Two lines of offshore reefs lower the ocean waves to about 0.5-1 m at the shoreline. The low waves produce a steep beach, with a narrow continuous bar, which is cut by rips during periods of larger waves. A permanent rip runs out against the groyne, and when the river does open it deposits a river mouth bar, which may induce additional rips. Dunes rising to 40 m back the beach, then a reserve and residential development.
