Lancelin beach (WA 926) commences at the tip of the foreland formed in lee of the small Edward Island and its larger surrounding reef. The beach curves round to the north for 1.8 km to the next foreland, where the main fishing jetty is located. The beach is sheltered by the reefs off each foreland, which provide only a small central opening for ocean waves. As a result conditions are often calm at the low gradient shoreline and numerous fishing boats moor off the northern end of the beach. The beach is backed by the main caravan park on the foreland, then a wide foreshore reserve and the township.
Beach Length: 1.8km
General Hazard Rating: 2/10
