Illawong beach (WA 1052) extends from the northern side of the bluffs for 600 m to a 10 m high, 50 m long vegetated headland. A total of about 20 shacks grouped into several small clusters back the beach, including one on the boundary headland, with the main road running just 200-300 m inland. Another 10 shacks are located on the northern side of the headland. Seagrass meadows front the southern section of the beach with a more sandy seafloor along the central-northern section.
