Knobby Head beach (WA 1054) commences at the sandy inflection of the same name and trends north-northeast for 1 km to the main Knobby Head shack area, then due north for another 5.6 km to the 10 m high calcarenite of Freshwater Point. Seagrass grows to the shore the length of the beach and is commonly piled up on the shore. The bluffs rise to 30 m at the shack settlement forming a 300 m long relic seacliff, now fronted by 100 m of shoreline. The shacks extend either side of the ‘head’, as well as a few scattered clusters along the beach.
