Beach WA 880 is a 3.8 km long reflective sand beach which forms a slight west-facing foreland to the lee of Burns Rock and other reefs which lie 500-1000 m offshore. The reefs lower waves to about 1 m at the shore. It is backed by dune-draped 10-20 m high calcarenite bluffs, and in places active and vegetated dunes that have transgressed up to 2.5 km inland and to heights of 50 m. While in 2001 most of the backing dunes were undeveloped, they are being encroached upon by the expanding Burns Beach settlement, which borders the southern end and the newer Mindarie subdivision at the northern end.
Beach Length: 3.8km
