Beach WA 1118 commences on the northern side of the river mouth and trends to the northwest for 3.3 km, forming the northern arm of the bay. The southern section of the beach is partly sheltered by Archdeacon Ledge, a reef located 2 km west of the river mouth. The combination of coarser sands and waves averaging about 1 m result in a steep reflective beach, grading into a low tide terrace to transverse bar rip along the northern few hundred metres. A series of active and vegetated parabolic dunes back the beach and extend up to 1.5 km inland to the southern shores of Hutt Lagoon and reach 35 m in elevation. The Port Gregory road runs between the eastern edge of the dunes and lagoon shore.
Beach Length: 3.3km
