Deep Gorge dissects the 100 m high calcarenite slopes at the northern end of beach WA 1109 and marks the beginning of beach WA 1110. This is a protruding and crenulate 1.6 km northwest-trending beach that is backed by vegetated slopes rising steeply to 110 m at Gill Hill, and is fronted by three sections of attached reef, with shore parallel reefs extending 200 m offshore. Waves averaging 1.5 m break over the outer reefs and again on the platforms and across the intervening pockets of sand, each of which has a 50 wide bar and is drained by a permanent rip. A 4 WD track descends a dry gully most way down the northern slopes to a circular parking area, with a walking track down to the beach. This beach is used by the occasional rock fishers and surfers looking for waves over the numerous reefs.
