Beaches WA 1812-1815 all face northwest across the 500 m wide entrance channel. They are separated by low rocky outcrops and are fronted by 100-200 m wide sand flats then the deeper tidal channel. Beach WA 1812 emerges from the mangroves that dominate the 6 km long southern shore of the port and entrance. It consists of a 300 m long high tide sandy beach, with mangroves fringing either end, and a small clump of rocks forming the northern boundary. The vehicle track across the tidal flats reaches the shore at this beach. It is backed by a 50-100 m wide low hummocky foredune.
