Beach WA 1744 commences on the eastern side of the 350 m long rock seawall, that has a berthing facility at the end, and is backed by the 50 ha of red iron ore stockpile, then two large fuel tanks. A commercial boat slip is located between the seawall and the start of the beach. The beach then trends to the northeast for 700 m with beachrock and rock outcropping along the beach and a low rocky point forming the northern boundary. Rocks and rock flats dominate the intertidal beach. Beach WA 1745 is located on the eastern side of the point and occupies the mouth of a small 100 m wide valley. The curving 150 m long beach plugs the mouth of the valley with a 5 ha wetland behind. It is a steep high tide beach, which is fronted by seagrass meadows. read more
