Two mangrove-fronted barrier islands dominate the next 4 km of shore to the 2 km long convex-shaped Boodamurra Hill barrier island. Beach WA 1715 occupies 400 m at the western end of the island where it is fronted by a deeper tidal channel, with mangroves to either side. Beach WA 1716 occupies the eastern end of the island and extends for 700 m in part as an actively eastward growing spit, that is extending into the next creek mouth (Fig. 4.379). Both beaches are fronted by 1-2 km wide tidal flats.
