Beach WA 1710 commences on the eastern side of the bedrock protrusion and curves to the southeast against gentle bedrock slopes, then east as a sand spit for a total length of 5.3 km. A continuous foredune up to 15 m high backs the beach, abutting the vegetated bedrock slopes to the west and forming the 3 km long Cape Preston spit to the east. Beachrock outcrops increasingly along the spit, and forms the eastern 500 m tip of the spit.
