Beach WA 1711 emerges from the 7 km long, 1 km wide belt of mangroves that separate it from Cape Preston spit. The beach is clear of mangroves for 1.7 km before being fringed by a narrow band of mangroves for the next 2.5 km to the pipeline point. The beach faces northwest and is fronted by 2.5 km wide tidal flats and backed by a 100-200 m wide band of low foredunes, with a vehicle track reaching the centre of the beach. The pipeline parallels the rear of the beach.
Beach Length: 1.7km
