Beach WA 1823 commences on the northern side of the 100 m long section of boundary basalt, and continues to the north for 800 m to a low red point. Basalt continues to outcrop along the southern 300 m of the beach, with the remainder consisting of a moderately steep high tide beach with sand and rocks exposed at low tide. A low foredune backs the beach with two small blowouts behind the northern end. The northern end of the beach is used to launching boats and small yachts and there is a cluster of buildings including the Port Walcott yacht club and large car park on the flat land behind the point.
