Beach WA 1404 is a northwest-facing 2.5 km long convex beach that terminates in the north at Flint Cliffs. It is a low energy beach fronted by calcarenite rocks and sands flats extending up to 1 km off the shore. The beach is composed of coarse shelly sand and only reached by occasional wind waves at high tide. It has formed from northeast sand migration that has developed a series of up to 15 beach ridge-spits, which have prograded the shoreline up to 700 m. The Hamelin Homestead caravan park, store and a shell block quarry are located behind the southern end of the beach.
To the north of Flint Cliff is an open 13 km wide west-facing embayment, bordered by Carbla Point to the north. In between are five low energy beaches (WA 1405-1409), all fronted by intertidal rocks then sand flats, and backed by beach ridge plains. All are accessible by vehicle tracks.
Beach Length: 2.5km
