Crayfish Bay (also known as Epineux Bay) contains the curving 3 km long beach WA 1187. The beach grades from a steep boulder beach in the south to a steep sand beach in the north, with both sections fronted by a continuous intertidal calcarenite platform. Waves break seaward of and then heavily on the outer edge of the platform only reaching the beach at high tide. A permanent rip runs out against the northern point, while there is a lefthand break at the southern end of the beach. The boulders are composed of eroded slabs of beachrock and form a 5-6 km high steep boulder berm. Midway along the boulder berm is a low walled dugout, which is has been suggested may have been made by shipwrecked sailors. The northern sandy end of the beach is also backed by a stabilising parabolic that in the past has linked with the main False Entrance parabolic. The 4 WD track runs along the back of the beach and on to Steep Point. Five kilometres north of Catfish Bay is Thunder Bay and cliffed rocky embayment containing a number of blowholes and an elevated boulder beach, the boulders deposited during high wave events. A spur off the coast track runs out to the top of the bay where there is an informal camp site.
