Beach WA 884 is located on the northern side of the 100 m long groyne, immediately outside the harbour entrance, through still partly protected by the end of the western breakwater. The 120 m long beach is backed by 15 m high vegetated bluffs, then Clarecastle Road. It is a high tide sandy beach with considerable calcarenite along the shore and a 50-100 m wide intertidal platform paralleling the shore.
