Beach K 526 lies immediately east of Cape Pond and occupies the westernmost of two joint lines that converge on the 300 m wide embayment. The beach is 100 m wide at high tide, narrowing as the sandstone ridges pinch out to 20 m wide at low tide. Outside the ridges the bay is filled with a mixture of sand, rock and reef flats. The eastern joint line leads to a 200 ha mangrove woodland, which backs the cape.
