Burrill Beach (NSW 477), which continues southwest for 1.4 km to the shifting mouth of Burrill Inlet, which connects to Burrill Lake. This beach is also backed by 10-20 m high dunes and a central caravan park with walk access to the beach. A single usually detached bar runs along both beaches, with rips every 300 m and against the headland. The rips are linked by an often deep trough, in addition to the inlet channel, shoals and current at the southern end (Fig. 4.356).
