Beach NT 1004 is located along the western side of Dundas Point. It faces west across Melville Bay and receives low refracted trade wind waves. The 2.1 km long beach has several crenulations caused by beachrock reefs which sub-parallel the beach. At the southern end of the point is the major 500 m long T-jetty for the loading of bauxite, with the conveyor-belt running the length of the point. There is a car park adjacent to the jetty shared with beach NT 1003.
