The small community overlooks beach NT 719, a 500 m long beach and foredune, backed by a 300 m wide barrier then a 500 m wide wetland. The beach receives occasional higher waves which maintain a 50-100 m wide bar, occasionally cut by a rip. At the northern end a tidal creek drains the backing wetland and maintains 100 m wide tidal shoals.
