. The main beach (NT 632) is a northwest-facing 500 m long beach, that has been cut in two by the barge landing, forming two 150 m and 350 m long sandy high tide beaches. It is backed by the landing facilities and fuel depot in the south, and a few houses to the north, with the town centre 500 m to the east. Low rocky points border each end and a small creek drains across the beach toward the northern end. At low tide 200 m wide tidal flats front the beach, apart from the channel dredged for the barge landing.
