This is a curving, north-facing 2 km long beach which receives waves averaging about 0.5 km at the western end, which decrease to the east in lee of a 500 m long reef that runs off the northern tip of Cape Barrow. The centre of the beach is backed by 200 m wide active and stable foredunes that rise to 13 m. The rock flats and reefs of Cape Barrow form the eastern boundary.
