On the south side of the point the sandy shoreline faces due east across the 4 km wide strait to Croker Island. The beach (NT 406) is 1.2 km long, running from the point to a 10 m high vegetated bedrock bluff. The sand flats increase in width to 200 m by the southern end of the beach, with deeper tidal channels further out.
