On the eastern side of the headland is beach NT 422, a 600 m long north-northeast-facing relatively straight strip of sand, backed by a few casuarina-covered beach ridges and fronted by sand, then rock and reef flats that extend 1.5 km off the headland. The beach terminates at a small tidal creek, which drains a 50 ha salt flat
