Wiyakipa Beach (NT 1436) is located 1 km to the south. This is a 10.7 km long east-facing beach that is fronted by a 200-500 m band of ridged sand flats. The low waves break across a wide low gradient ultradissipative surf. The beach is crossed by two creeks, with a third northern boundary creek. A 500 m wide beach-foredune ridge plain backs the beach, with older vegetated transgressive dunes behind. In the south these extend another 1 km inland and to heights of 32 m, and represent a mid-Holocene higher energy phase of deposition.
Beach Length: 10.7km
General Hazard Rating: 1/10
