Aralaij Beach (NT 167) is an 8.1 km long strip of low energy west-facing sand located 10 km north of the East Alligator River mouth. The beach is bordered by extensive mangroves to the north and south and for the most part backed by salt flats and freshwater marshes up to 5 km wide. Continuous 400-500 m wide mud flats and scattered mangroves front the beach. The area is part of the Murgenella Wildlife Sanctuary, with no vehicle access to the beach.
