Beach NT 69 is the first of four beaches occupying the southern section of the bay. It is an 8.9 km long, low energy, crenulate high tide sand beach, fronted by mud flats up to 1 km wide, with several sections of mangroves fronting the beach. For the most part it is backed by low wooded black soil plains, with a 1.5 km long beach ridge-recurved spit forming the eastern end, and terminating at a small tidal creek.
