Beach NT 26 extends for 4.5 km along the western side of Dorcherty Island to low bedrock bluffs and rock flats toward the northern end. The southern half is dominated by 400 m wide tidal shoals associated with the main inlet and a second one, while the northern half has a 300 m wide intertidal beach. The entire beach is backed by an irregular 10 km2 complex of up to 25 beach ridges and recurved spits that extend to Port Keats and form the southern half of the island.
