Yelcher Beach (NT 20) begins inside the northern tip of the low headland, and initially curves to faces west then runs straight for 5.1 km to the dynamic Tchindi Creek mouth. The beach receives low waves (less than 0.5 m) which are sufficient to form a low tide bar system cut by drainage channels. The beach faces into the westerly summer winds and has a moderately unstable foredune system, with dunes extending up to 400 m inland and to a height of 30 m. There is vehicle access to the rear of these dunes and the adjoining beach NT 19
Beach Length: 5.1km
