Beach NT 529 occupies 1 km of the northern side of the point and faces northeast into the prevailing easterly winds, with waves averaging about 1 m. The beach is however fronted by a 100-200 m wide irregular rock reefs, then fringing coral reefs, with waves breaking across the flats and resulting in calmer conditions at the shore. As a consequence mangroves front the eastern 1 km of shore, all the way to the eastern tip of the point. A grassy strip of beach ridges then woodlands back the beach.
