Beach NT 499 begins 500 m to the south around the next point, and at 3 km is the longest beach in this section. The entire beach is relatively straight and lies at the base of eroding and slumping 20 m high bluffs, with much debris on the beach and littering the 100 m wide surf zone (Fig. 5.63). A vehicle track reaches the top of the bluffs toward the northern end of the beach. The beach terminates at a slightly protruding 200 m long section of bluffs and rocks, on the southern side of which is 400 m long beach NT 500.
