Beach NT 511 begins on the eastern side of the mangroves and is a relatively straight 1.5 km long northwest-facing beach, fronted by 400 m of fringing coral reef flats. The entire beach is backed by vegetated 10 m high bluffs, which in places protrude onto the beach
