A third headland begins 3 km to the east, with beach NT 880 located in an open embayment dominated by mangroves. The 600 m long beach occupies a gap in the mangroves, which together with the mangroves fronts a 3.3 km long series of beach ridges and backing salt flats. The entire system is fronted by 300 m wide tidal flats.
