The small Garrthalala community consists of several houses located between a 500 m long landing ground and 1 km long beach NT 1140. This is a crenulate beach consisting of five sandy crenulations each bordered by low rocks and rock reefs, with both rocks and sand flats extending into the bay. The beach terminates at a small usually dry creek, on the north side of which is 700 m long beach NT 1141.
