The northern shore of Cape Arnhem (also known as Nanydjaka) is a straight 1.4 km long rocky shore, backed by a continuous strip of high tide sand (beach NT 1053). There is one 200 m long gap in the rocks toward the western end of the beach. It receives waves lowered by refraction around the cape which break across the 50 m wide rock flats.
