Beach NT 1456 commences on the southern side of the foreland and trends south-southwest for 8.3 km to a sand foreland formed in lee of a reef located 2.5 km off the beach. The beach is backed by a continuous 2-3 km wide series of overwashed vegetated beach ridges, then 3-5 km wide salt flats. It has a moderately steep beach face fronted by 1 km wide ridged sand flats, with a patch of reef off the centre and off the southern foreland. Beach NT 1457 extends from the southern side of the foreland to the southern 300 m wide mouth of Rosie Creek.
