Beach NT 1473 commences on the eastern side of Shark Creek and is initially protected by the creek, which cuts a channel across the 800 m wide sand flats. The beach continues for 6 km to the southeast to the mouth of Seven Emu Creek, which is deflected 3.5 km to the west. Five hundred metre wide ridged sand flats parallel the beach, increasing to 1 km off the Shark Creek mouth. This beach is also backed by a 2-3 km wide beach ridge plain, containing approximately 15 ridges which splay to the east as recurved spits.
