. Beach NT 1478 commences on the eastern side of Skeleton Creek and is a narrow 3.2 km long beach that terminates at a large 500 m wide creek mouth. A 2 km wide series of four Pleistocene beach ridge-spits backs the beach, then 5-6 km wide salt flats. The beach is fronted by the tidal shoals of both creeks which extend over 1 km offshore. The eastern end of the beach is being overlapped by the migrating western end of beach NT 1479.
