Beach NT 1484 commences on the eastern side of the creek and extends southeast for 7.6 km to the deflected mouth of Sandy Creek. The beach is fronted by ridged sand flats, which widen to the east, reaching over 1 km off the creek mouth. It is backed from west to east by a 2 km wide zone of vegetated spits, then beach ridges, and then a 4 km long spit that has deflected Sandy Creek to the east. Some minor foredune blowouts and dune activity are occurring on the spit. The entire system is backed by 4-5 km wide salt flats.
