Beach NT 97 consists of a 1 km long southern section containing low eroding red bluffs and several beachfront properties. The bluffs give way to a low sand beach which impounds a 1 km wide shallow lagoon, drained by a small central creek. The beach continues north of the creek for 500 m to the next low rocky bluffs. The 2.3 km long beach is for the most part fronted by a 100 m wide low tide bar, as well as some deeper rock flats, and a small ebb tide delta off the creek mouth.
