. Beach NT 99 is the site of the Lodge of Dundee, the major tourist and holiday destination for the area. The lodge sits on low bluffs overlooking the 400 m long southwest-facing beach (Fig. 5.14). Rock flats border the beach and extend 500 m off Native Point, the northern boundary. In front of the lodge is a small groyne and breakwater built to shelter the concrete boat ramp, with the sand beaches to either side. Sand moving down the coast is building out on the northern side of the breakwater, widening the beach. The best part of the beach for swimming is on the south side of the lodge or in the small swimming pool which looks over the boat ramp and ‘harbour’. At Native Point the shoreline turns and runs due north for 5 km to an entrance to Port Patterson. A formed road runs along the back of the beaches to the northern point, however the track is locked and unauthorised vehicle access is prohibited, as these beaches are all protected turtle nesting sites. The shoreline is slowly eroding and is dominated by low eroding bluffs and rock flats.
Beach Length: 0.4km
