Beach NT 986 is located 5 km to the northeast at the eastern extremity of the bay. The beach is sheltered from easterly winds though exposed to westerly winds and waves blowing across the bay. The 1.4 km long beach faces southwest across the bay and wraps around a 1 km wide peninsula, with the extremities of the beach forming multiple spits that have built 1.2 km and 2 km respectively into the adjacent bays, the majority of the spits fronted by mangroves. A vehicle track parallels the back of the beach.
