Beach Q 33 is part of a 1.6 km long, low northwest-facing, 100 m wide barrier, that extends north of the creek to its northern boundary at Branigan Creek. The creek also backs the barrier together with salt flats up to 5 km in width. The narrow high tide beach is fronted by 200-300 m wide intertidal sand flats.
