Beach Q 27 is located on the eastern side of the protruding mouth of Spring Creek. Mangrove-lined shores extend for 60 km to the west and 25 km to the east. The beach is composed of coarser sands and shells reworked from the creek mouth to form the relatively straight northwest-facing strip of sand. It is a low beach prone to overwashing and backed by overwash flats and then salt flats, with cheniers 1-2 km inland and then 20-30 km of supratidal salt flats. The beach is fronted by 300-500 m of ridged sand flats, then mud flats extending 1 km offshore. Mangroves border each end of the beach with some scattered along the beach.
