Captain Billy Landing (Q 300) is a 600 m long sand beach, backed by 40 m high laterised horizontally bedded sandstone. Several blowouts have partly climbed the bluffs behind the northern half of the beach, while the landing area is clear of dunes, and afforded slight protection from the southern headland that extends 300 m to the southeast. The road winds down from the bluffs to the beach and ramp. The beach is only accessible by small boat at high tide, as it is fronted by two to three intertidal sand ridges, scattered laterite boulders, then a low tide fringing reef.
