Beach Q 274 commences at the southern creek mouth and continues due south for 2.6 km to a third creek. This beach is a barrier island backed by a 400-800 m wide mangrove-filled interbarrier depression, then the older transgressive dunes. The mangroves are drained by tidal creeks to either end. In total the shoreline has prograded up to 1 km into the bay during the mid to late Holocene. It is fronted by more than 10 low intertidal sand ridges that extend 1.5 km into the bay.
