Beach Q 417 commences on the southern side of the 50 m wide creek mouth and is a 4.4 km long wide sandy beach, that contains a subdued cuspate foreland in lee of Lloyd Island, located 1.5 km off the centre of the beach. North of the foreland the beach is more exposed and has an ultradissipative 200 m wide system with a few blowouts and is accessible by vehicle. South of the foreland the island plus some fringing reef lowers wave energy and transforms the bar into a continuous series of 200 m wide ridged sand flats and outer seagrass meadows, with a low stable foredune. The beach terminates 1 km south of Spring Creek at the next small creek mouth.
Beach Length: 4.4km
