Beach Q 406 commences on the eastern side of the cape and trends south as a slight cuspate foreland for 800 m. The foreland has formed from wave refraction around Restoration Island, which is located 500 m off the beach. The beach is backed by a low 50 m wide grassy foreland, then vegetated bedrock slopes. It is fronted by a 50 m wide fringing reef north of the foreland, which widens to 300 m on the southern side. Fishing boats sometimes anchor in the channel between the cape and the island.
